Phonics and Word Recognition: Grade 3

Phonics and word recognition are essential to reading success.  The goals of this 3rd grade module include having students apply advanced phonics and word analysis skills in decoding, writing, and using affixes accurately. Phonics and word recognition skills should always lead to greater fluency and comprehension.  All students can increase their vocabulary through using a root word as a clue to a meaning of a new word formed by adding an affix.
