This SciGirls video demonstrates the advantages of having a mentor who works in the field in helping the girls brainstorm and make a plan. Seeing women who have succeeded in STEM helps inspire and motivate girls, especially when they can relate to these mentors as people with lives outside of their job. The SciGirls rely on their mentor to help them begin to plan their project and walk them through the design process of creating, testing, redesigning, and testing.
