Finding Water on Mars | NASA Planetary Sciences
Discover how the Phoenix lander confirmed the presence of water on Mars. Visualizations show where NASA's Odyssey spacecraft found evidence of hydrogen in 2002 and how the Phoenix lander (which reached Mars in 2008) investigated if Mars had ever had conditions suitable for life. Members from the science team describe the goals of the Phoenix mission and discuss the discovery of material that may be water ice. After careful observation of the disappearance of the material over the course of a couple of days, it was concluded that the material was water ice that had sublimated.
