Putting Energy to Use
In this video from NOVA’s Energy Lab, learn how the ability to convert energy from one form into another has revolutionized human society. Energy occurs in different forms (such as chemical, thermal, and electrical) and can be changed from one form into another. People put energy to use by converting it; one example is when we burn wood to transform chemical energy into heat and light. We create most of our electricity by transforming one form of energy into kinetic energy to drive a generator, which produces electrical energy.
This video is available in both English and Spanish audio, along with corresponding closed captions.
