Fencing

In this video from DragonflyTV, Paula and Alyssa investigate the force of attack involved in various fencing moves. Paula and Alysaa spend a lot of time practicing fencing. In competitions, electronic sensors tell them when a hit is made. However, in practice, a hard hit can really hurt. So that got them thinking about if a hard hit is really worth it. Is an energetic attack move really more accurate? And which move has the most energy anyway? Paula and Alyssa built a wood machine that tests the amount of energy used. When they do the 3 moves, the machine's ruler slides more based on the amount of energy used. They tested the lunge, thrust and parry.
