Executive Order 8802: Prohibition of Discrimination in the Defense Industry (1941) and Resource Materials
This resource group contains two facsimiles and a transcript of, and a background essay on the June, 1941 Executive Order 8802, in which President Roosevelt banned discriminatory employment practices by Federal agencies and all unions and companies engaged in war-related work. It also established the Fair Employment Practices Commission to enforce the new policy.
