Making Bread

In this video segment from Between the Lions, Anthony visits a bakery where he learns about the characteristics of different kinds of breads. There are long breads, round breads, crunchy bread, and soft bread. Then Anthony learns how to make bread using the typical bread ingredients: flour, salt, yeast, vegetable oil, honey, and water. They toss from the outside to the inside and then knead the dough. They divide the dough for two loaves and then fold the dough, place it seam-side down in the oven, then let it rise. Then they taste te bread. The recipe is then reviewed. Key vocabulary words include: bread, long, round, crunchy, soft, crisp, flour, salt, yeast, vegetable oil, honey, water, kneading, dough, loaves, oven, and baking. This video segment provides a resource for Fluency, Vocabulary, and Language and Vocabulary Development.
