Adult education instructors Pat Marshall and Elizabeth Dinkins review the day’s lesson using a series of closure activities including  a series of "I can" statements, questions about the lesson, and exit slips. At the conclusion of a lesson, it is helpful to have learners reflect on the topic and consider how, or if, it relates to prior knowledge. Having an activity or a short questionnaire to complete at the end of every class will help them with this process. Framing the concepts in a series of “I can” statements can give learners a sense of accomplishment.
