Cathy, Professor of Chemistry and Biology at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, is investigating how a protein inside these microorganisms converts carbon dioxide into energy. Ultimately, she hopes humans might apply what they learn from microorganisms to remove carbon dioxide from the environment.
