Donut You Love Place Value: Finding Ten More and Ten Less Work Mats
This "10 More and 10 Less" resource combines engaging work mats with ELD and UDL strategies to make place value learning accessible for all first graders. ELD supports include sentence frames like "___ is ten more than ___," helping English learners articulate their understanding while building language skills. UDL features, such as visual aids, hands-on manipulatives, and multiple means of practicing (e.g., counting on and using number lines), ensure that diverse learners can grasp the concepts in ways that suit their unique needs. This resource fosters an inclusive, supportive environment for building foundational math skills.
This paired resource has a variety of work mats that can be used with the Donut You Love Place Value Presentation. For ease of use these can be laminated or placed in plastic sleeves for repeated use during whole group or small group instruction.
