California Common Core State Standards - Mathematics
- 1.NBT.A.1 Count to 120, starting at any number less than 120. In this range, read and write numerals and represent a number of objects with a written numeral.
- K.CC.A.1 Count to 100 by ones and by tens.
- K.CC.A.2 Count forward beginning from a given number within the known sequence (instead of having to begin at 1).
Heart Race Game
- Objective: Collect the most Unix cubes by the end of the game.
- Setup: Players start on the "Start" square with a unique game piece and take turns rolling a dice.
- Gameplay:
- Roll the dice and move forward the number of spaces shown.
- Collect the number of Unix cubes indicated by the heart on the square you land on.
- If you land on the "End" square, your turn is over.
- Winning: The game ends when all players reach the "End" square. The player with the most Unix cubes wins!
