Module 3 description: Module 3 includes four units: Telling Our Stories, United States Symbols, Telling Stories, and Wonderful You! Unit 2: The United States Symbols unit will help students explore nonfiction texts and domain-specific vocabulary about United States history. The unit will include three informational texts: Presidents’ Day, The Washington Monument, and Is a Bald Eagle Really Bald? Students will discuss the historical significance of U.S. symbols in each book and encounter domain-specific language typically found in social studies texts. They will also learn about the structure and text features of nonfiction texts.
