You can be a marine scientist! at Asilomar State Beach

Join PORTS Interpreter Daniel at Asilomar State Beach in Monterey, California to learn about how you can be a marine scientist by making observations along California's shoreline! Learn how you, your friends, and family can easily help collect valuable scientific data for Snapshot Cal Coast, an annual California statewide community science effort that encourages people to make and share observations of plants, animals, and seaweeds along the California coast using the iNaturalist app. Led by the California Academy of Sciences with support from the California Ocean Protection Council, the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, California State Parks, the MPA (Marine Protected Area) Collaborative Network, and an array of other partners, we are helping create a valuable "snapshot in time" of where species are located along our coast.
