Intersectional Approaches to Inclusive Instruction

This recorded workshop emphasizes the importance of adopting an intersectional lens in education to address the needs of the most marginalized in society. By moving beyond singular identities, educators can challenge stereotypes, combat polarization, and celebrate the diverse human experience, including variations within ethnic diversity.

Led by Tonya Moore, Coordinator III for Physical Education and Comprehensive Health, and Michelle Herczog, Coordinator III for History-Social Science at the Los Angeles County Office of Education, this session equips participants with strategies to promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice.

The discussion focuses on the intersection of LGBTQ+ individuals and ethnic studies, offering insights to enrich instructional practices and inspire educators to become advocates for equity and social justice. Workshop slides are included in the provided resources.
