The Importance of Cultural Competence in Supporting Students’ Mental Health
This article discusses how the shared beliefs, values, and experiences of any social or racial group can result in different worldviews and have a significant impact on how someone perceives and understands symptoms. The article discusses how to(1)promote a culture of equity and inclusion, and (2) provide culturally and linguistically appropriate care. Additionally, find resources to help support students who are: Asian American and Pacific Islander, Black/African American, Indigenous, Hispanic/Latinx, LGBTQI, and people with disabilities.
