What is gratitude?
Gratitude is a feeling of being thankful for the goodness in our lives and in our world and appreciative of other people’s contributions toward that goodness, no matter how big or small the impact.
What are the benefits of gratitude?
Research by Dr. Robert Emmons, University of California at Davis and Dr. Jeffrey Froh, Hofstra University shows that practicing gratitude is linked with a host of social, emotional, psychological and physical benefits, as outlined by Wendy Baron, MA in With an Attitude of Gratitude.

At a time of great uncertainty during this global pandemic and the challenges of adapting to a new normal, practicing gratitude is more important than ever to increase our sense of wellbeing and happiness. Fortunately, there are numerous fun gratitude practices that can be readily implemented in the classroom setting and easily adapted to a distance learning model.
