To fully understand the function of verbs and their impact on meaning, students must be able to quickly identify progressive verb tense phrases and how they change the meaning of a sentence. In this lesson, students will actively engage in conversation regarding the progressive verb tenses past, present, and future and focus on the changes in meaning as tenses change. They will then use teacher-created sentences to identify progressive verb phrases and write sentences in which they change the progressive verb tense.
