In order to work out if travelling back in time is possible, Professor Hawking has asked three volunteers to imagine a journey back in time, their challenge is to predict what it would look like to travel back in time.

Observe the volunteers as they work through the experiment and learn that the laws of nature do not support the sudden appearance of large quantities of new matter, and therefore backward time travel is unlikely to be possible.
