World War II Veteran James Williams - Lieutenant Junior Grade, Navy | Georgia Oral History
Mr. James "Jim" Glover Williams discusses his memories of the invasion of Normandy, seeing thousands of ships near Normandy's beaches on D-Day, and the many hours he spent loading cargo as a naval JG. Mr. Williams was born on October 19, 1922 in Durant, Mississippi. He moved to Macon Georgia at the age of 13. Mr. Williams enlisted in the Navy at the age of 19. Upon completing his training at Emory University Mr. Williams was eventually sent to the United Kingdom where he was assigned to an LCT unit.
