Glass | Raw to Ready: Bombardier
This clip from Raw to Ready: Bombardier focuses on the discovery of silica glass. In 5000 B.C.E a Phoenician cargo ship hauling a natural sodium carbonate used for cleaning called natron discovered silica glass by resting their cooking pots on blocks of natron over their campfires. The process of natron and silica sand is still used today on a massive industrial scale.
