Reaching out to Parents of Immigrant Students

One phenomenon that's common in immigrant families is that the children often learn English faster than their parents. Once past a certain age, it becomes harder to learn a new language, so schools with an international population must have translators and programs to help reach out to the parents, who may not be able to speak English. This clip from Homeland: Immigration in America, shows how one school is meeting that challenge by working with both the students and their parents.
