Dr. Hoven tells EarthSky that her organization, the American Medical Association, which consists of more than a quarter million physicians and medical students in the U.S., believes the health care system in the U.S. needs reform. Students will learn to recognize the position on health system reform and affordable health care coverage put forth by the American Medical Association and examine misconceptions about health care and health care costs.
