Taking Action for a Clean Environment | Interactive Lesson

In this interactive lesson, students learn about a variety of environmental issues and the tactics and strategies used by student activists engaged in environmental justice and public health at the local and state levels. Videos that feature several youth leaders illustrate the personal characteristics that contribute to productive civic engagement. The lesson concludes with a final assignment that asks students to identify and research a local environmental issue of personal interest or to interview or profile an existing environmental campaign or civic leader in their own community.
